Baylor Retirement Plan - 403(b)
Baylor University provides eligible employees a retirement plan benefit to assist in planning for retirement needs. The Baylor Retirement Plan (BRP or the "Plan") is a 403(b) plan. Baylor University, at its sole discretion, may provide a defined contribution to eligible participants. In addition, eligible participants may make voluntary contributions into the Plan on either a pre-tax or after-tax basis. Details are outlined in the document links below.

Eligibility Requirements
Full-time and part-time employees (excluding student employees) are eligible to make salary deferral contributions to the Baylor Retirement Plan on their date of hire.
Part-time faculty and staff members who are at least 21 years of age, and who have either worked the equivalent of 1,000 hours during their first year of employment with the university, or who have worked the equivalent of 1,000 hours during a subsequent calendar year will be eligible to enroll into the Plan.

Auto Enrollment
Effective June 1, 2024, upon hire, you will automatically be enrolled on a pre-tax basis at 3% of your annual salary and your contributions will be directed into a target date fund closest to your projected date of retirement. You have 60 days to enroll at a different percentage or dollar amount or to opt out of participating in the Baylor Retirement Plan. If you want to modify your election to a different percentage or dollar amount, you can do so by logging into your TIAA account at www.tiaa.org/baylor.
403(b) Retirement Forms
Effective February 20, 2023, you will make any personal retirement plan contributions directly within your TIAA retirement account. Please go to tiaa.org/baylor to login to your account to make your contribution elections.
For the Baylor discretionary contribution, if you satisfy the age requirement, but have not satisfied the service requirement, then you will need to complete the Prior University Work Experience Form to receive partial credit towards the one year of service requirement.
Contribution Limits for 2025:
- Basic is $23,500
- Over 50: additional $7,500 for total limit of $31,000
- If age 60-63 as of December 31, 2025: additional $3,750 for total limit of $34,750
