What is Christian Conciliation?
Christian Conciliation is a voluntary process for reconciling people and resolving disputes in a biblical manner. The process is conciliatory in nature between all participants; that is, it encourages honest communication and reasonable cooperation towards the goal of restoration of broken relationships!
Where could it help?
- Christian Conciliation could be utilized to resolve some of the following examples:
- Two employees are in conflict due to past workplace events and disagreements that were never resolved or addressed.
- Unresolved interpersonal issues between an employee and their supervisor that cannot be addressed independently.
What does the process look like?
Who will be the mediator?
Christian Conciliation will be facilitated by individuals at Baylor who have been trained by Ambassadors of Reconciliation in Coaching People Through Conflict and Mediating People Through Conflict. These individuals have also demonstrated prior conflict resolution skills in their current roles and are likely to consist of individuals from Human Resources and campus partners, depending on several factors such as the employees involved in the conflict and the type of conflict being experienced.
What happens to information shared in the process?
Information shared in Christian Conciliation is confidential and all participants, including mediator(s), are expected to abide by this requirement. Records will be stored in a confidential digital folder by the mediator(s).
