Disability Faculty and Staff Association (DFSA)
What is the purpose of the Disability Faculty & Staff Association (DFSA)?
DFSA plays a key role in encouraging a vibrant and growing disability community at Baylor. We accomplish this purpose through opportunities for networking, support, and dialogue in relation to experiences of disability. We envision a Baylor that recruits, retains, and fosters a faithful community of disability aligned with the university’s Christian mission.
Who is this group for?
The DFSA is for all employees who are committed to the growth of the disability community at Baylor.
Is this group only for people with disabilities?
No. The disability community is diverse, and comprises those with personal experience of disability, family members of those with disabilities, caregivers of disabled people, and allies of the disabled community. Moreover, we recognize that disability encompasses a broad range of experience. This group is intended to foster a hospitable space for those committed to the growth and flourishing of the disability community at Baylor.
How can I get involved?
This is a new group, launched in 2025 – we are actively looking for individuals animated by the vision of fostering a community of disability belonging at Baylor. We encourage all who are interested to contact the DFSA leadership at DFSA@Baylor.edu.
