Technology Benefits for Retirees
Retirees from Baylor University continue to enjoy several technology benefits. Your BearID will remain active and you will be responsible for keeping your password current. You will be notified when your password is nearing its expiration date. Use the password reset instructions for assistance.
The following resources remain available to retirees:
Microsoft 365 Online Edition (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
After your retirement date, you will no longer have a subscription for the Microsoft Office applications installed on a personal computer. You will have access to the online versions of the Office applications found at portal.office.com.
While your BearID and password will continue to allow access to these services, it will not allow access to other operating systems or platforms that you might have used during your employment at Baylor, including Ignite, LinkedIn Learning, and Adobe Creative Suite.
IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING COMPUTER FILES AND BOX FILES
After your retirement date, you will not have access to your Baylor-issued phone (if applicable), computer, and any files associated with it as well as files you have stored in Box. Once you complete your last day of work at Baylor, you will lose access to these files and any operating systems/platforms you used while employed at Baylor. If you think you will need access to your electronic files after retirement, then you are responsible for transferring said files to a personal external drive or personal cloud account (NOT Baylor Box) prior to your retirement date. Access to these files after retirement will be prohibited.
IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING YOUR EMAIL INBOX AND ONEDRIVE STORAGE QUOTAS
After your retirement date, the maximum size of your Baylor email inbox will be reduced from 100 GB to 50 GB. Prior to your retirement date, be sure your online Outlook data is under the 50 GB limit to avoid losing email. More about Mailbox Storage Limits in Outlook. After your retirement date, OneDrive/SharePoint storage quota will be reduced from 1TB to 100 GB. More about storage limits in OneDrive.
