The Military-Connected Faculty and Staff Association strives to facilitate and enhance a welcoming and supportive community for military veterans (active, guard, reserve, and retired), their families, caregivers, and supporters among Baylor’s faculty and staff. We seek to promote awareness and understanding of the unique contributions and experiences of military veterans and their families/caregivers and enhance opportunities for veteran recruitment, professional development, and career advancement. We advocate for the needs of opportunities for military veterans, and their families/caregivers, who serve on campus locations and in Baylor’s online educational courses.
MCFSA Purpose
MCFSA’s purpose is to cultivate community, support, and culture of care around Baylor’s military-connected faculty and staff and to engage them in the support work for students.
Activities & Events
During their first year, MCFSA has hosted several community building events including: Freedom Ball participation, Baylor Club Mixer, Salute to Hero Football Game Tailgating and Flag Unfurling, and Salute to Hero Baseball Game. Furthermore, MCFSA plans to meet monthly at Penland Dining Hall for a regular meeting/social.
MCFSA’s Salute to Hero Football Game is set for September 14th.
Making a Difference at Baylor
While MCFSA is a newer ERG, they are already starting to make an impact at Baylor. MCFSA has had members serve as mentors for current students, provided support for VETS Program initiatives, and have begun planning around increasing awareness of Memorial Lampposts on campus.
