Next Steps for International Scholars
Baylor sponsors International Scholars at the Faculty and Postdoctoral staff throughout the university on a departmental basis. If you have questions about sponsorship for any role, feel free to ask your main point of contact or recruiter during the hiring process. You are not required to divulge the need for sponsorship prior to the offer being extended and accepted. Not all positions are granted sponsorship. Carefully read each job posting paying special attention to the language regarding eligibility to work in the US.

- Accepting the Job Offer
- Once you have accepted an offer with the University, inform your recruiter or contact that you will need sponsorship for employment.
- A Baylor HR International Talent Advisor will work with you to evaluate your specific sponsorship needs and help you understand what is available with the position you have accepted.
- Once you have decided on the appropriate U.S. visa you wish to pursue, the IE Talent Advisor will continue to walk you through the process.
- A background check will be performed through a third-party company.
- After your background check has successfully completed and your Visa has been approved, your IE Talent Advisor will begin helping you with any Baylor provided relocation assistance.
- Be sure to keep your IE Talent Advisor informed of any changes in your travel, visa status, or personal circumstances that would change the date of arrival.
- Complete onboarding tasks in Ignite.
- Once you have accepted an offer with the University, inform your recruiter or contact that you will need sponsorship for employment.
