Reporting Concerns
Your voice matters! When you become aware of an issue that leadership should know about, Baylor encourages you to share this information with us – and in some instances, reporting is required by law. In cases involving an incident of sexual assault, sexual harassment, dating violence, or stalking, where a student or employee from Baylor is involved, all Baylor staff and faculty must report this information to Title IX. Failure to report this information may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination, according to Baylor policy and Texas Senate Bill 212. Remember that you are not responsible for determining whether the information is accurate but you are responsible for promptly reporting the information to Title IX for assessment.
The next section provides suggested reporting channels available to you for all other reports of concern.
How to Report
- Academic Leader or Manager: Your supervisor, chair, or dean generally is the best person to partner with to find solutions, or to direct you to the best contact for the situation. If you do not feel it is appropriate to speak with your supervisor about the issue, there are many other options.
- Report a Workplace Concern to HR: Contact your Human Resources Consultant (HRC) to report a concern. If you’re not sure who your HRC is, click the HRC contact list and locate the HRC for your department. In some instances, the Human Resources Employee Relations Team reviews reports of policy violations, employee misconduct, and interpersonal conflict among employees.
- Report a Workplace Concern Anonymously: Report It” is an online portal used to anonymously and/or confidentially report activities that could involve criminal, unethical, or otherwise inappropriate behavior in violation of Baylor’s policies. This platform can be accessed by calling 866-384-4277 or online at Report It.”
- Report Concerns of Workplace Discrimination or Harassment: The Title IX Office investigates reports of unlawful discrimination on the basis of sex or gender in any of Baylor’s education or employment programs and activities. The Equity Office handles matters concerning equal opportunity, and unlawful harassment or discrimination on the basis of protected characteristics and offers education, training, support, and resources related to these issues.
