Changes to Position Funding Source Procedures
We wanted to inform you about recent updates regarding how changes to position funding sources for employees (labor distribution) are handled at the University. It's essential to stay informed about these changes to ensure smooth operations and compliance with our financial procedures.
Effective April 15, 2024 , anytime a change in position funding source is identified, you can collaborate directly with your Business Office (comprising Financial Administrator, Financial Manager, or Business Officer) to initiate the necessary adjustments. Whether these changes are due to budgetary reallocations, project modifications, or other reasons, your Business Office is equipped to facilitate the process efficiently. One individual has been identified to manage these updates for your department. If you are not already familiar with who is assigned, your business officer can assist you.
For changes related to sponsored projects or grants, your University Research Administrator (URA) will continue to provide valuable assistance in gathering the required details and ensuring accurate communication with the Business Office. This collaboration helps to streamline the process and ensures that funding source changes are implemented promptly and accurately.
We encourage you to familiarize yourself with these procedures and leverage the support available from your Business Office and URA whenever needed. By working together closely, we can ensure compliance with financial guidelines and maintain transparency in our operations.
Should you have any questions or require further clarification regarding these procedures, please don't hesitate to reach out to your Business Office or the Financial Services Department.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and your continued cooperation is greatly appreciated.
