Coming January 1, 2025: Changes to Tuition Reimbursement Program (BUPP 451)
As part of our continuous review of policies to ensure they remain equitable and aligned with best practices, effective January 1, 2025, there will be changes to the current Job-Related Tuition Reimbursement Program (BUPP 451). This program provides reimbursement for tuition expenses for job related courses taken at other colleges or universities. These changes will be applicable to courses started on or after January 1, 2025.
Changes to this program include:
- Program Eligibility – To be eligible for this program, continuous full-time employment for 12 months is required for anyone hired on or after January 1, 2025.
- Tuition Reimbursement Limits – The maximum tuition reimbursement that will be provided during the calendar year will be $5,250. This imposed limit will impact courses started on or after January 1, 2025.
- Criteria for courses eligible for reimbursement – To be eligible for reimbursement, a passing grade of A or B is required.
- Eligible employees may be reimbursed for more than 1 course taken in a given semester/quarter with reimbursements for the calendar year not to exceed $5,250.
