Team BaylorPLUS Recognition
Department: Digital Marketing
"I am pleased to nominate this exceptional team for the Baylor Salute. They exemplify proactivity and a strong commitment to service, consistently responding swiftly to challenges with effective results. Their daily availability to address issues, combined with their initiative in analyzing our website, has been invaluable. They have collaborated closely with the Baylor Law School MarComm team to identify enhancement opportunities, executed agreed-upon updates, and provided thoughtful follow-up. As a result, our website has become significantly more impactful, and we look forward to continuing this collaboration."
Department: University Marketing and Communications
"The Division of Marketing and Communications hosted a truly fantastic Homecoming weekend! They were working tirelessly throughout the weekend to create an entertaining and meaningful experience for the Baylor Family. From providing information, to helping children make mums, to coordinating and organizing different activities, I witnessed members of their team continually going above and beyond to ensure the best #BaylorHomecoming for our community. Sic 'em, MarComm!"
Individual BaylorPLUS Recognition
Ron Smyers
Department: Robbins College of Health and Sciences, Advising
"A goal of Baylor's mission is to "support, encourage, and expect excellence in all undertakings." Ron Smyers exemplifies this each and every day in the Robbins Advising office. He connects with his students on a personal level and consistently provides exceptional support to not only our students but to our team. He is both patient and kind, exemplifying the Christian spirit through his service each day. His dedication to our students, to Robbins College, and to Baylor does not go unnoticed. Bravo, Ron!"
Tiffany Davis
Department: Accounts Payable
"Tiffany Davis is someone I can always rely on to help me navigate complex expense report questions. She consistently shows kindness and understanding when I reach out and she's always willing to take the time for a call when needed. Her advice is thoughtful and clear, making her guidance invaluable."
Natalie Szot
Department: Office of Access and Learning Accommodation
"Natalie really helped our son in dealing with accommodations and gave him several avenues for him to try to find help. Hats off to a wonderful example of what Baylor stands for in helping students! Thank you for all you do day in and day out to guide and make students better."
Jared Gould
Department: Campus Recreation
"Jared has worked diligently to improve the SLC Fitness Center for over a year. The Fitness Center is consistently clean and keeps the equipment working. He mentors his student workers in how to care for the facility and engage in difficult conversations when policies are challenged by modeling these behaviors. I've witnessed Jared with the backpack vacuum and screwdriver set many times. Jared treats all students, faculty, and staff who visit the Fitness Center with respect and kindness. He is always willing to answer questions and assist."
Ashley Wheeler
Department: Undergraduate Admissions
"Ashley recently went above and beyond in helping one of my sophomore business students. He had requested his MCC transcript be sent to Baylor but it was not delivered to the registrar's office. I then reached out to Ashley to see if Undergraduate Admissions might have it. She indicated that they did not, but instead of that being the end of the story - she was able to determine that the graduate school had received it and then proceeded to work with that office and with Parchment to not only have it sent to our registrar's office but also processed it immediately for him, so those credits could be applied to his record prior to registration time ticket assignment! She truly blessed us with her can-do attitude and willing spirit to serve! Baylor is blessed to have her on board!"
Pam Bailey
Department: Hankamer School of Business
"In Pam's role, she works with our degree candidates. She recently blessed one of our May 25 grad candidates with a very personal 'early' graduation ceremony at Hillcrest Hospital. She coordinated the student's ability to graduate early for his sister to be able to see her brother graduate before she passed away. They were able to have this ceremony and provide his sister her last request. I know the student and his family were so appreciative of Pam's efforts to fulfill this request for his sister. She was a true blessing to them in a very sad situation. Pam is very deserving of a BaylorPlus Salute - Baylor is blessed to have her!"
Randy Woodruff
Department: Digital Marketing
"This afternoon I arrived at the Clifton Robinson Tower just after Randy. He stopped to pick up trash that was scattered about in front of the entrance, while others had ignored it. He went out of his way to clean up part of our campus. I am thankful our University has leaders like Randy who are willing to go out of their way to do good for others.
Marquita Foster
Department: School of Education
"Dr. Foster consistently demonstrates a level of care and commitment that goes well beyond the expectations of her role. Her availability and attentiveness to her students, both during and outside of formal hours, is remarkable, as she makes it a priority to address concerns, provide guidance, and offer encouragement in both academic and personal matters. She fosters a learning environment where each student feels empowered to engage deeply with the material, express their thoughts openly, and pursue their goals confidently. Under her leadership, I feel seen, heard, and valued, which has not only bolstered my academic performance but has also profoundly impacted my personal development and sense of belonging within the academic community. Dr. Foster's unwavering dedication to her students is an inspiring example of leadership and mentorship in action."
Laila Sanguaras
Department: Curriculum & Instruction
"Dr. Sanguras is our biggest cheerleader. In the Fast Track, several of us get stuck trying to make things harder than what it needs to be. She takes the time to remind us to slow down and walks us through what the EdD is looking for in order to achieve our dreams. As long as we believe in us, Dr. Sanguras believes in us."
Jazmine Reed
Department: Student Care & Wellbeing
"Jazmine has been a great resource for our son at Baylor. We are so thankful for the help she has given him in a time of need."
Clayton Wise
Department: Louise Herrington School of Nursing
"We would like to extend a heartfelt salute to Clayton Wise for his incredible patience, dedication, and outstanding service during the recent badge access upgrade. As many faculty, staff, and students faced unexpected access issues, Clayton went above and beyond to ensure everyone received the help they needed with a smile on his face. One faculty member shared, "Clayton literally bailed me out multiple times and I want to recognize his outstanding attitude and efforts to help me take care of my students and submit the evaluations and grades on time. He is a true asset to our school." Clayton, your unwavering commitment and positive attitude in the face of challenges truly embody the spirit of Baylor and LHSON. Thank you for being an invaluable resource and for always going the extra mile!"
