Their dedication and professionalism have played a crucial role in the success of events such as Baylor 2 Baylor Med, Baylor 2 Baylor Law, and Invitation to Excellence. Department: Financial Value Transparency and Gainful Employment Working Group

"These individuals/departments worked tirelessly to ensure institutional compliance with the new Financial Value Transparency/Gainful Employment regulations. The effort was very complex and required a high level of attention to detail. This project was a great example of how to keep Baylor compliant when new regulations are introduced."

Department: Parking and Transportation

"Small but mighty is the best way to describe Baylor Parking and Transportation Services. Upholding the Baylor vision and mission are the driving force behind this nine-person dynamo of a team as they process thousands of ID cards, manage over 11,000 parking spaces to include 5 garages, as well as supporting all of Baylor's major events. When you think teamwork, think Baylor Parking and Transportation Services."

Department: Office of the Vice Provost for Research

"I "lead" this team.  I have done what I do for almost 20 years and have worked with several teams over those years. This Baylor team is unlike anything I have ever experienced in the best way. They continually look out for each other, helping with the full workload - not just their personal assignments, but everyone's. They value doing what is right, even if it takes longer or is more burdensome and they help each other in those endeavors. To say they work hard is an understatement. They continue to amaze me with the quality of their work, their positive attitude, resilience and commitment to doing a quality job - because it's the right thing to do, because it reflects on our team and because they want our team to represent Baylor in the best light!"

The positive, proactive approach of the CASA staff plays a crucial role in shaping the academic experience for every student, and their contributions to the success of Baylor's student body cannot be overstated."

Department: Student Care & Wellbeing

"The Baylor Care Team is an outstanding group of individuals who do and carry so much for our student community. I am amazed by the care and love that they show to each and every student. I also truly appreciate them taking time out of their busy days to educate others! They recently came and led my entire team through at Mental Health First Aid training, and it was so impactful and profound for us all. Again, I know what a large load they all carry, and they do it so often "unseen", and they don't do it for the recognition, but I am hoping they can be recognized now. Thank you Care Team for loving on our students and walking with them through the darkness and the light."

Department: George W. Truett Theological Seminary

"Truett's External Affairs team consistently models Baylor in Deeds. This group genuinely cares for the spiritual growth and nurture of thousands of Baylor and Truett alumni and friends who serve in churches, non-profits, para-church ministries, and other settings throughout the United States and in multiple nations. A typical day will witness team members encouraging pastors, equipping students, collaborating with para-church and denominational partners, conducting research, and building community with Kingdom purpose. Jack, Julie, Kenneth, Dustin, Carrie, Nathan, and David listen carefully, think strategically, and act collaboratively to help churches and ministries, and those who lead them now and will lead them in the future, flourish. It is a blessing to serve with each of them!"

Department: Senior Financial Managers, College of Arts & Sciences

"The senior financial managers go above and beyond each day to support the work within A&S. The three members of this team are gracious, patient, fantastic listeners, and encouraging. I'm so thankful for their expertise and willingness to share and train."

With their instructional design expertise, they have ensured that our curriculum is aligned to course and program objectives. They have also embedded interactive components designed to facilitate deeper learning for students. Additionally, the team prioritizes accessibility and guides our faculty through considerations they might make in developing course content. In additional to all of this work, they are also working with our academic unit to design and develop the courses for our Master's in Learning Design and Technology degree, a program that focuses on excellence and human flourishing in the learning design field. Individual BaylorPLUS Recognition

Whitney Asher

Department: Financial Services

"Whitney provided excellent leadership and facilitated cross-functional collaboration in navigating and coordinating the University's Gainful Employment/Fair Value Transparency Reporting submission to the US Department of Education. In her role as Financial Aid Compliance Manager, Whitney quickly became a subject matter expert and resource on the new and unchartered external reporting requirement and related guidance. Baylor was able to stay "ahead of the game" due to Whitney's dedicated facilitation and organization of the GE/FVT project team and many sub-groups as part of the University's Aid & Enrollment Compliance Council. Whitney most recently represented Baylor along with representatives from two other institutions in a discussion with the Department of Education to share and provide input from Baylor's experience and perspective on the overall GE/FVT reporting process. Whitney is a proven leader in the area of Financial Aid Compliance and an invaluable asset to Baylor University."

Alexis Barnes

Department: Student-Athlete Center for Excellence

"I am pleased to nominate Alexis Barnes for the BaylorPlus Salute Award in recognition of her outstanding dedication and service. Alexis has led the Baylor Student-Athlete Center for Excellence's Campus Engagement efforts, creating meaningful opportunities for faculty and staff to connect with our department and collaborate on ways to better support our shared student-athletes. Through initiatives such as Faculty & Staff Appreciation Tailgates, student-led thank-you letters, and the Honorary Guest Coach program, she has strengthened relationships across campus and fostered a greater sense of community. Her commitment to enhancing engagement and support for student-athletes exemplifies the spirit of going "above and beyond." Alexis' efforts have made a lasting impact, and she is truly deserving of this recognition."

Kemper Beard (x3!)

Department: Film and Digital Media

"As the office manager for Film and Digital Media, Kemper consistently delivers exceptional performance, even in the face of challenging and ever-changing situations. In addition to his active support of faculty and staff, Kemper remains steadfastly focused on what best serves our students. He is constantly engaged in meetings and discussions about courses, schedules, study abroad programs, course materials, and more, always asking how these elements can best serve our students. He encourages us to think of ways to better support our students' learning and work within our department, our field, and Baylor as a whole. This quality is incredibly important and exemplifies Kemper's Christian commitment. Kemper's Christ-like compassion and care for others are evident in his unwavering dedication to serving our students and encouraging us to do the same. While FDM may not be a large department, it is very complex. The creative nature of the work done in classes and by faculty engaged in creative research often results in dynamic scenarios with numerous moving parts and intricate logistics that come from both within Baylor and outside Baylor. Kemper's sharp intellect and deep understanding of Baylor's culture and systems enable him to excel in this role, ensuring that faculty and staff have the necessary resources, knowledge, time, and space to perform their duties effectively. Beyond the logistical aspects of his job, Kemper significantly enhances the department's culture by fostering an atmosphere of friendliness and professionalism that positively influences everyone around him. All of these qualities make Kemper a staff member who truly goes above and beyond."

Ryan Reed

Department: Hankamer School of Business

"I could nominate Mr. Reed for numerous things and it has nothing to do with his actual job here at Baylor. I could nominate Mr. Reed for the way he pours into students who are interested in getting in business. I could nominate Mr. Reed for the way he connects with students spiritually as they try to further develop in their relationship with Christ. I could nominate Mr. Reed for the work that he has done as an Executive Board Member for numerous years, but this year as President Elect for the Baylor Black Faculty and Staff Association. But I am honestly nominating Mr. Reed for his work as Advisor and Coach for our Club Basketball Teams. Because of Mr. Reeds dedication, our men's and women's club basketball team both came in 2nd place at the NIRSA Region 4 Basketball Tournament at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Because of this, both teams have qualified for the National Tournament in Madison, Wisconsin in April. I was able to see firsthand how Mr. Reed cares for these students when one his star players got injured early in the tournament. Mr. Reed prayed with the student and explained to him how there are some things that are bigger than basketball. Risking further injury just to win a tournament was not a priority. It is this character that make him a candidate for any recognition that may come his way."

Joshua Smith (x12!)

Department: School of Education, Online Learning

"Dr. Joshua Smith is the Assistant Director of the EdD-LOC Research and Writing Development Center and an Associate Graduate Faculty member. His detail-oriented approach and expertise have made him a key contributor to several research dissertation committees each trimester, playing a crucial role in maintaining the University's high standards of academic excellence. His thoughtful feedback helps students elevate their research and writing, and I continuously learn from reading that feedback. His exceptional work ethic, integrity, positive and encouraging demeanor, support of students, collaboration with colleagues, and leadership demonstrate his commitment to Baylor's mission and are evident in each and every task he takes on."

Lauren Muhl

Department: School of Engineering and Computer Science

"As the inaugural Assistant Dean of Operations for ECS, Dean Lauren Muhl has made significant contributions as a staff leader that have greatly enhanced the operational efficiency of the school. She has streamlined communication between departments and the Dean's office, eliminating redundancies and minimizing last-minute requests. Through her efforts, she has also increased the school's visibility by launching new events and initiatives, including a summer camp that was successfully organized within just three months after a decade-long hiatus, as well as a new awards program and reception to honor outstanding faculty, staff, and students. Additionally, she has effectively managed and led staff meetings that support the Dean and the growth of the school under the new strategic plan. Dean Muhl has strengthened relationships with external stakeholders such as industry leaders, university partners, and local community organizations, including ISDs and hospitals. She has also spearheaded the administrative efforts to expand the online Master of Computer Science program. Beyond her work at Baylor, she serves as Chair of the Staff Council, leading staff initiatives across the university, and further extends the school's impact by serving on the Midway ISD Gifted and Talented Advisory Board."

Bo White (x6!)

Department: Center for Global Engagement

"Bo White is a great Director of Study Abroad. His work is directly tied to our new strategic plan and the Pro Mundo addition to our university motto. He embodies the best of Baylor - he is brilliant, generous, kind, and always has our students' best interests in mind. I have been a semester study abroad director under Bo's leadership three times in the past 7 years. We have weathered a number of crises together. He has also served as wise counsel to me when I have been helping students deal with individual crises and health issues while they are out of the country. Bo understands first-hand how studying and serving in another country can be life-changing for a student. He works hard every day to bring that opportunity to as many students as possible. He is a wonderful colleague, and our study abroad programs are flourishing under his leadership."

Mary Sage (x13!)

Department: School of Education, Online Learning

"I would like to nominate Mary Sage due to her exceptional contributions as the Assistant Director of Student Support Services in the EdD in Learning and Organizational Change program. Her most consequential achievements include successfully leading the transition of student support services in-house after the severance from 2U, which involved redesigning procedures and workflows. She envisioned, planned, and built the Graduate Academic Success Center for Baylor's largest research doctoral program (currently over 340 students), greatly improving the efficiency of student support services. Additionally, she played a pivotal role in hiring and onboarding ten new staff members, creating an online training course that ensured consistency and efficiency. Finally, her collaborative spirit and leadership have significantly supported Baylor's mission and enhanced the experience for both students and staff during a challenging period of change. Our program would not have emerged from the separation from our OPM nearly as strong without her tireless efforts."

Pat Hynan

Department: School of Engineering and Computer Science

"Pat Hynan consistently excels in his role as Director of Technology and Facilities at ECS. He always responds quickly to the technology needs of faculty and staff, offering innovative solutions that contribute to the success of events and camps. Often going above and beyond, he arrives early and stays late to ensure every setup is perfect. As an expert in the lab equipment used at ECS, Pat's dedication to ensuring we have the right resources is invaluable. Additionally, his commitment to creating a positive, welcoming, and enjoyable work environment for his colleagues makes him a truly outstanding team member."

Megan Glover

Department: School of Engineering and Computer Science

"I am pleased to nominate Megan Glover for her outstanding contributions to ECS in recruitment and outreach. Megan has played a pivotal role in developing and implementing innovative recruitment events that effectively highlight the many opportunities ECS offers to prospective students. In addition to the university events such as Invitation to Excellence and Distinguished Scholars Day, she has initiated highly successful events unique to ECS including ECS Preview Day, regional student receptions, and a residential summer camp designed for high school students. Additionally, Megan spearheaded a major effort to enhance our social media presence, leading to a remarkable 500% increase in followers across key platforms and the creation of several viral videos. Her creativity, along with the dedication of her team of student ambassadors, has been essential to meeting our recruitment goals. Megan's willingness to explore new strategies and think outside the box has truly set ECS on a path to success."

Amy James (x2!)

Department: Libraries Research and Engagement

"Amy James is the librarian for the School of Education. She works tirelessly with the students in the online EdD-LOC program, meeting with them in the evenings and on the weekends. She supports them in every aspect of their research, ensuring that they have the tools they need to be successful. Additionally, Amy travels to Waco at least once per trimester to conduct workshops with our students. She is an engaging instructor and we all benefit from her expertise. I am incredibly grateful for Amy's commitment to our program!"

Nick Werse

Department: School of Education, Ed LOC

"Dr. Nick Werse is the Senior Director of Operations (SDO) for the Online Learning Unit. In his role, he oversees 15 staff members and navigates the many Baylor systems involved in our unit. This includes our business office, Graduate Professional Education, the Graduate School, the registrar's office, and more. Dr. Werse is incredibly organized and efficient and I cannot imagine this unit running without his leadership and expertise. Since moving into his role, we have expanded our academic unit to include an additional master's degree and two certificate programs. He embodies the ethical and compassionate qualities we expect in our Baylor leaders. I am incredibly grateful for his enthusiastic commitment to excellence. Dr. Werse rocks!"

Kristi Barrera

Department: Psychology and Neuroscience

"Kristi joined us in 2021 and has consistently exceeded expectations since she arrived. She is dependable, conscientious, and efficient in her work. She manages a wide array of different tasks well and does so with grace. Kristi is often the first person to arrive and thus often initiates conversations with building management about building-related concerns. In fact, many other departments often contact Kristi to ask how to solve a problem. She really goes above and beyond and takes pride in the work we do at our clinic and BU's mission. But even more than her initiative and conscientiousness, she is a caring and supportive colleague. I often refer to her as the face of the clinic and she serves as the hub by which our clients, our graduate student clinicians, and our faculty revolve. She helps our clients feel comfortable and our students and faculty feel supported. We are so lucky to have her and she is very deserving of such an award as one small way to express our gratitude for all she does for Baylor and our community."

Lucas Hurtado

Department: College of Arts & Sciences

"Lucas Hurtado has been doing an outstanding job for us as Financial Administrator for the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Lucas deftly handles a variety of financial issues for many professors and staff members in our department, often in an expedited time if need be. He is competent and professional. After Lucas started working with our department, many long-time issues that we were having with unpaid invoices were resolved. I speak for many researchers in our department in saying that our load has been lifted significantly, and we can focus less on Ignite and more on our research."

Alexis Davidson (x11!)

Department: Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences

"As Director of Research and Grant Administration in Robbins College, Alexis Davidson provides critical research infrastructure and support. She regularly goes above and beyond in her support of faculty research, walking hand in hand with faculty throughout a project's development and writing process. She is an expert in her field, and willingly shares her expertise with others. Alexis works long hours to ensure that faculty have detailed feedback and reviews to strengthen their grant proposals. Alexis is an incredible source of expertise, and her work is reliable, timely, accurate, and professional. What sets Alexis apart, though, is her integrity and positive attitude. She creates a positive culture, improving morale and empowering others to do their best. She is a clear and transparent communicator and follows through on her commitments. Furthermore, her demeanor is consistently encouraging, supportive, and selfless. Alexis is the biggest cheerleader for everyone around her, exemplifying what it means to embody a caring and others-focused community. I appreciate her as a grant expert, research partner, and person. She is a gift to Robbins College and all who work with her."

Sarah Pratt

Department: School of Education, Ed LOC

"For the last three years, Dr. Pratt has chaired the Baylor Emerging Research Conference (BERC) committee. This is a virtual research conference for School of Education graduate students to collaborate and share their in-progress or completed research. Every year, students, faculty, and staff from every department in the School of Education gather on a Saturday in January to be inspired and energized. Dr. Pratt has played an instrumental role in the growth and success of this conference. She is stepping aside to allow others to lead. We appreciate and will miss her leadership in planning such an extraordinary event. Thank you, Dr. Pratt!"

Mary Jacobs

Department: School of Music

"Mary has transformed our marketing, social media, print material, and passive marketing on all monitors and calendars in the School of Music. Her work on social media has led to thousands of Instagram followers which translates into active recruitment potential for applied faculty. Mary has been strapped with updates in Astra, printing all programs for the School of Music, editing articles, and word smithing all of the departments strategic planning language. She makes smart decisions that have positive impacts downstream and is not afraid to voice concerns when she is aware of a potential negative impact that the Dean or other senior leadership do not see. She works tirelessly as an advocate for the School of Music and is proactive towards highlighting student, alumni, faculty, and ensemble activities."

Grace Casper (x4!)

Department: Baylor Center for Developmental Disabilities

"Grace has been described as the glue that holds our Center together; she is the ultimate team player. Grace is constantly supporting new team members with onboarding and ensures they have someone to go to with any questions. On numerous occasions, Grace has given rides to colleagues who have a car in the shop or are unable to drive to work for whatever reason. When a team member is sick, she offers to bring them food and stops by to visit if they are lonely. Grace not only goes above and beyond to ensure her colleagues feel welcome and prepared at work, but also supports them with struggles they may be having outside of work."

Katelyn Jaynes

Department: Baylor Interdisciplinary Core

"While she may appear quiet and mild-mannered, Katelyn is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to teaching and student advocacy. Her dedication to the mission of the BIC is unwavering, and she takes the lead on the countless intricate details that ensure our program shines for both prospective and current students. A true team player, Katelyn's keen attention to detail strengthens our cross-campus partnerships, enhancing collaboration and efficiency. Her commitment to student success and learning is a tremendous asset to our community, and I wholeheartedly applaud her contributions."

Justin King

Department: Baylor Interdisciplinary Core

"Justin joined our team in a temporary capacity midway through the Fall 2023 semester, but it quickly became evident that we needed to find a way to keep him in a more permanent role. As a compassionate and insightful advisor, teacher, and student advocate, Justin demonstrates an unwavering commitment to student success and professional excellence. Beyond his dedication to individual students, Justin embodies the spirit of the BIC and Honors education. He is deeply invested in our students' educational journeys, leading our monthly "caseload communications" process to ensure they are aware of the many resources available to support their success. For all of this and more, I applaud Justin's contributions and commitment to our community."

David Bess

Department: Facilities Management

"Undergraduate Admissions (specifically Campus Visits) held two large scholarship events over the course of two weekends that hosted more than 1,200 students and their families. David was a key factor in helping to ensure that these events were not only successful, but campus looked and operated at its best leading up to and on the day of these events. David checked in with the Campus Visits team to follow up on tour routes and communicated with both teams regarding construction updates or other projects that were or were not happening in conjunction with these events. He relayed information, asked questions and helped us feel prepared to show the best of Baylor. Thank you David & team for helping facilitate an excellent visit experience for these students and families! We truly could not have done it without you."

Jennifer Black

Department: School of Social Work

"Jennifer is a truly exceptional member of our team and an exemplary representative of Baylor University. She consistently demonstrates thoughtfulness, thoroughness, and dedication in every aspect of her work. Her empathy, organizational skills, and commitment ensure that students in the MSW program receive the highest level of support and experience a seamless journey throughout their studies. Jennifer seamlessly navigates two distinct administrative roles, giving each her full attention and energy as though they are her sole focus. Her tireless work to enhance the program is evident in her thoughtful implementation of new systems and processes that have greatly improved the efficiency and overall experience for both students and staff. Jennifer embodies the core values of the social work profession, as well as the principles upheld by Baylor University and the legacy of the School of Social Work founder, Diana R. Garland. We are incredibly fortunate to have Jennifer on our team, and the entire program is undoubtedly better because of her contributions. She is more than deserving of recognition for her outstanding efforts."

Enid Watkins Holleyman

Department: Office of the Provost

"I have had the pleasure of working with Enid over the past few years as we have served on Staff Council. In a department that demands the utmost of time, temperament and decorum, Enid still finds ways of being kind, attentive and responsive to every voice. She is impossibly patient with personalities of all kinds and always has a kind word, alongside her sage guidance. With as many responsibilities and obligations as she has on her plate, one never feels rushed or ignored, and good ideas are welcome. She truly is the most understanding of team players, putting the good of Baylor front of mind in all discussions, but never to the ignorance of the individuals she works with. This is the ultimate quality of leadership, that an individual might feel seen, heard and part of the greater design, and Enid makes that tangible for all whom she works with."

Katy Vogelaar

Department: Louise Herrington School of Nursing

"Dr. Katy Vogelaar is an exceptional nursing professor whose dedication to her students and profession is commendable. She consistently goes above and beyond in her class preparation, utilizing the latest evidence-based practices to ensure optimal learning experiences. Ronda Bond

Department: Baylor Interdisciplinary Core

"Since her arrival to the Honors College two years ago, Dr. Bond has exuded tremendous energy and nurtured positive feelings among staff, students, and faculty in the Baylor Interdisciplinary Core (BIC). With Ronda consistently telling the BIC story, morale has improved and perceptions have taken a major upturn around campus. Truly, I can't say enough about the difference her leadership has made to the BIC and the Honors College. I consider it sheer joy to partner alongside her, and to learn from her many kindnesses. Although I'm naturally pleased when she says that she's found the experience rewarding, I know that whatever benefits she's taking from the work cannot compare to the impact she has had. It would be easy to say she's a natural leader, but there's more than aptitude involved. Ronda works hard, but she also works smart. And her collaborative style is a role model for others."

Kaytlin Browning

Department: Human Resources

"I am pleased to nominate Kaytlin for her exceptional performance as our Talent Advisor during the hiring of our Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications. Despite a 4-day work week filled with numerous meetings and tasks, Kaytlin went above and beyond to expedite the process, ensuring we met our urgent timeline. Her dedication, efficiency, and commitment to excellence were greatly appreciated."

Jason Bushnell
