UPDATE: Floating Holidays

The University's revised academic schedule for the Fall Semester resulted in the reduction of two well-deserved paid holidays for Baylor Staff (Labor Day & the Wednesday before Thanksgiving). Baylor Staff were provided with two "Floating Holidays" to use whenever desired, in consultation with the staff member's immediate supervisor, prior to May 31, 2021.

The number of hours given for the Floating Holidays for Labor Day & the Wednesday before Thanksgiving will be prorated based on the employee's FTE (Full Time Equivalent). To use the Floating Holiday option, an employee will need to log into Ignite to submit an absence request and select the "Floating Holiday" option. The normal absence procedure will continue and the request will need to be approved by the employee's supervisor.

Any Floating Holiday hours not used by May 31, 2021 will be forfeited. Upon separation from service, unused Floating Holiday hours have no cash value in the employee’s final pay.
