Studies have shown that there is a positive correlation between employees who are meeting their wellbeing needs and employee productivity. When employees are thriving with their wellbeing, they take fewer sick days, perform better, and have lower rates of burnout and turnover.

How can managers support employee wellbeing?

Employees tend to seek out wellbeing support as issues arise. Managers can support employee wellbeing by routinely making employees aware of the resources that are available to support their wellbeing.

What resources are available to support employee wellbeing?

Baylor Wellbeing takes a holistic approach to supporting employees and their families along five key dimensions; Physical, Financial, Emotional & Social, Spiritual and Professional.

Employees who are enrolled in the Baylor Group Medical Plan have additional wellbeing support through www.umr.com. These employees and their spouses are eligible to earn up to $400 each by completing the Physical Wellbeing program through www.umr.com.

The Mental Health First Aid certification program is also a great way for managers to support employees. It is estimated that more than 20% of adults in the United States face mental health challenges. This 6-hour certification program would be a meaningfully supportive departmental activity.
