Family Benefits at Baylor

It's no secret that Baylor University offers faculty and staff many benefits and advantages while on your career journeys.  But, did you know many of these benefits also extend to spouses and dependents?  It's true!  Aside from being able to add your family to health related insurances, your family can access services at the Student Life Center (SLC), get free or discounted Baylor Athletics tickets, and much more.  Below is a list of popular family benefit offerings at Baylor that you and your family can start utilizing today!

Baylor Athletic Tickets (free or discounted)

Baylor faculty and staff are eligible for free or discounted admission to campus Athletic events.  Complimentary tickets will only be available for faculty, staff, their spouse and dependent children, all members must be present at time of ticket pick up and Baylor faculty or staff member must present their Baylor ID card. Single faculty and staff may request complimentary tickets for themselves and their dependents or one guest.

Campus Dining

Baylor offers several dining venues on campus that employees and their spouses and dependent children can enjoy at discounted rates based on their faculty/staff status.  Children ages 5 and under of Baylor faculty and staff can eat at designated Baylor residential dining halls (Penland, Memorial, Brooks, East Village) at no cost.

Campus Events

Throughout the year, Baylor hosts many exciting campus-wide events that Baylor faculty and staff and their families are encouraged to attend such as Christmas on 5th, Easter Egg Hunt, Diadeloso, and the annual Baylor Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night on the Brazos River.

Care.com Premium Membership

Benefits for eligible Baylor faculty and staff, now include unlimited access to the leading network, Care.com, for finding booking short- and long-term care for children, seniors, pets, home, and more through the Care.com Premium Membership.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at Baylor University supported by Optum Health is a confidential information and counseling service provided as a benefit to you and your household members at no extra cost to eligible Baylor faculty and staff.  Baylor University provides full time faculty and staff (and their household family members) with this EAP to support their personal and professional life.  Resources include...

  • Up to 5 sessions with a counselor either one-on-one, in person or virtually
  • Unlimited telephonic access to master's-level counselors
  • Legal and financial support
  • Parenting and childcare support
  • Information on caring for an elder dependent

Surviving Spouse Benefits

Benefits available to the surviving spouse are determined by the benefits the retiree is enrolled in when they pass. The two main categories of benefits available are dental and medical.

Student Life Center (SLC)

The Student Life Center (SLC) is a free onsite fitness center for Baylor faculty and staff members and their families.  The SLC has a fitness center, rock climbing, leisure pool, outdoor basketball & sand volleyball courts, 4-court gymnasium, conference rooms, racquetball/squash courts, indoor jogging track, aerobics studio and student louge.  Baylor faculty and staff members also enjoy access to Russell Gym, Baylor Marina, tennis courts, and of course, the campus Bear Trail.

Tuition Remission

Educating men and women for worldwide leadership and service is at the core of our mission.  We value education for our employees and their families, as well as our students.  Tuition Remission benefits (partial or full based on service years) are available for full-time employees, their spouses, and dependents after one year for Bachelor or Master level courses.
