Spring Student Worker Hiring
Spring 2024 semester is fast approaching, please take steps now to ensure you are ready for student worker hiring.
The information below is related to Student Employment and does not impact any hiring for Graduate Assistants.
Important Notices
- Hiring forms for spring can be completed at any time. Please allow a 2-week processing time from the requested start date.
- Graduating students from the fall are automatically inactivated and do not require separation requests to be submitted by the line manager.
- Don’t forget about the FWS Student Worker Wages Reimbursement Incentive, which can provide your department with more flexibility in budgeting and spending as you coach and mentor student workers.
Action Items Due
- Log into Ignite and confirm the assignments of each student worker in your area BEFORE submitting the appropriate form.
- Ignite pathway for confirming assignments: Tools > HCM Management Data Portal > Current Student Assignment
- Submit Rehire Request Form in Ignite prior to start date.
- If rehiring more than 3 student workers, submit the Mass Rehire/Change/Separation Form.
- Additional processing time is needed if background check is required.
