Don't forget that the second session of the Baylor 101 series is coming up this week, Thurs. Oct. 27 at 1pm. It will cover Baylor University's endowment and how endowment funds are acquired, managed and dispersed across the university. Trying to quit smoking? You may be interested in this research study investigating physiological and subjective responses of adult smokers wanting to quit. The study is conducted on Baylor's campus (up to 8 sessions). Participants are compensated up to $365 and receive brief counseling sessions to assist them in quitting.

We are pleased to inform you of an important and exciting update to our Baylor Health Plan. The network and administration of our medical insurance plans will transition to UMR/UnitedHealthcare (UMR/UHC) from BlueCross BlueShield of Texas, effective January 1, 2023. The Baylor Health Plan is staying the same with no changes to deductibles, out-of-pocket maximums and copays. Other benefits, such as pharmacy, vision and dental coverage, will also stay the same. Families and communities across Texas have celebrated Juneteenth for generations, but this year marks the first time it was celebrated as a national holiday. Baylor University was closed on Monday, June 20, in recognition of Juneteenth. June is Men's Health Month. Now's the time for men to get their health in order and give themselves some self-care. That means seeing the doctor for checkups and when needed, getting recommended health screenings, eating right, getting regular exercise and more. The summer FitWell program includes 30 group exercise classes, including F45, Yoga, Refit, Hip Hop, Tabata and more. Special Monday Madness activities such as Pickleball, Wallyball, Bowling and Family Fun in the Sun will also be offered throughout the summer for the entire family. Lemonade Day is a free program that equips young learners with skills they need to become young entrepreneurs, centered around opening up a Lemonade Stand. The app covers lessons from financial literacy to marketing and branding and makes the lessons approachable and entertaining. BFSA congratulates the inaugural cohort group of the AIM Leadership Collective. This program was developed by the BFSA to help current or aspiring staff and faculty leaders from underrepresented groups at Baylor develop and strengthen their leadership and communication skills while broadening their network. Register your kids today for Baylor REC Camp – a new and exciting day-camp experience this summer for the children of Baylor faculty and staff. Located conveniently on the Baylor campus, REC Camp is offered in eight, one-week terms that engage campers with recreation, active learning, specialty activities, and character development.

Baylor's Center for Academic Success and Engagement (CASE) Office is working to identify faculty/staff who have shared identities of the student populations that they serve (i.e. student veterans, first-generation college students, etc.). The goal is to invite these faculty/staff to different events and gauge interest for potentially serving as mentors. Completion of this short survey (2 minutes or less) will help CASE in their work to create a sense of belonging and support for these students. Completing this survey does NOT commit you to anything. It only helps identify faculty/staff for sharing information on future events and volunteer opportunities.
